Academic & Training Services

The Jawaharlal Nehru Aluminium Research Development and Design Centre (JNARDDC), Nagpur was conceived as the major R&D support system for the emerging modern aluminium industry in India and is a US$ 10 million joint venture supported almost equally by Department of Mines, Government of India and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). It has successfully carried out a large number of research projects for the Indian Aluminium Industry in the areas of Bauxite, Alumina, Analytical Methods, Aluminium Electrolysis and Downstream Processing.

Centre also offers Training Programs consisting of interesting lectures by experts, technical discussions and excellent training materials pertinent to the requirements of the aluminium industry. Indian Aluminium Industry, Indian Mining Industry, R&D and Academic Institutions in India actively participate in these programs and get benefited. About 600 Industry personnel from NALCO Smelter and 12 from NALCO Rolled Product Unit have recently been trained through these programmes.

In an attempt to attract Global Aluminium Industry, JNARDDC proposes a series of short term courses and training programs for the Aluminium Industry personnel in the following areas :
